A former Ankeny teacher says she’s not guilty after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

Thirty-three-year-old Mandy Davenport is charged with one count of sexual exploitation by a school employee. She entered a not guilty plea in court Wednesday.

Police say she had a relationship with a 17-year-old male student while she was teaching at Ankeny High School. She has since resigned from her position.

Her trial is scheduled for July.
