JOHNSTON - The Johnston boys soccer team is looking for its first ever state title.  The Dragons are ranked #1 in Class 3A, undefeated.

Their leading goal scorer is Sophomore Elvir Ibisevic.  Ibisevic has 19 goals on the season, 4th in Class 3A.

Ibisevic was born in Bosnia in 1998, but two years later his family moved to the US for a better life and to escape the war.  The Ibisevic name carries a lot of clout in Bosnia, Elvir's cousin Vedad is a superstar for the Bosnian national team.  Seven months ago Vedad scored the biggest goal in Bosnian history, sending Bosnia to its first ever World Cup.

Johnston opens the state tournament Thursday against Ames.
