DES MOINES, Iowa – Des Moines police officers will be spending their time at the ballpark Thursday.

The department, along with Des Moines firefighters, are teaming up for Angels in the Outfield.

The Angels program helps special needs children play baseball while their parents are able to watch from the stands.

Every child bats and scores and all games end in a tie.

They play at the Kiwanis Miracle League Field, just west of Principal Park. First pitch is at 6 p.m.
