DES MOINES, Iowa – A Des Moines store owner got the verdict he wanted from the Iowa Court of Appeals.

The court ruled commonly sold unused glass pipes are not drug paraphernalia under Iowa law.

Day Dreams store owner Charles Clark said his pipes were seized during an undercover operation by Des Moines police.

The court said the law requires pipes to be used to ingest drugs in order to be considered illegal.

Since no drugs were found in the store, the court has ordered the pipes be returned to Clark.
