AMES, Iowa – Iowa state university says a student accused of trying to smuggle military-grade sensors to China is no longer enrolled.

Wentong Cai was arrested by US Marshalls in February after he was accused of attempting to buy ARS-14 military grade sensors from an undercover agent in New Mexico.

According to a search warrant, Cai used his Iowa State University email address to arrange the sale.

ISU says he enrolled in spring classes this year but never finished.
