DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police are investigating a carjacking reported early Monday morning.

It happened at 22nd Street and Lincoln Avenue around 2:00 a.m.

Officials say a 30-year-old West Des Moines man told them he was driving down 22nd Street when a man walked slowly across the street and stopped in front of his car. As the driver stopped, two other men approached with guns and ordered the victim to get out of the car.

He obeyed orders, but two suspects still hit him in the face and head with guns before taking off.

The victim says the men were wearing masks and police say they haven’t identified any suspects.
