DES MOINES, Iowa — Manny Ramirez will join the I-Cubs Thursday on the road.

News that Ramirez would be added to the I-Cubs roster as a player/coach came in May and since, many questions have been raised about when he would actually join the club.

Ramirez will be active for the double-header against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Security Service Field.

Officials say Ramirez has been working out at the Cubs’ facility in Mesa, Arizona to get ready for his stint with the I-Cubs.

I know you are not talking about the chicago cubs. 13 back at the end of June witbh no prospect. I read your little article. Amazing what Cub fans will believe to keep their hopes alive. Also Manny is a cheating jerk and I point out to my son (who loves the game) that manny is the classic example of what a ball player is NOT.

You mean the Manny Ramirez who took a female fertility drug in order to cheat? The Manny Ramirez who was suspended suspended for 50 games, and when he returned he was found once again to be in violation of the drug policy? The Manny Ramirez who then retired in shame rather than face what could be a 100 game suspension?

He is someone we don’t need in Iowa and we don’t need as an example to kids who idolize baseball players.
