CARLISLE, Iowa – This weekend a summer pastime will be taken to the extreme in Carlisle – lawn mower racing.

The mowers can nearly keep up with interstate traffic reaching speeds of 60-miles per hour.

Drivers say it’s fast enough to burn the grass off your lawn. They’ll hit the track this Saturday and Sunday at the River Bottom Speedway in Carlisle.

The public is encouraged to check it out.

“A lot of local people, a lot of good people, a lot of family, that’s another thing about this sport, it’s a really family oriented sport, people come, my cheering section’s my family and they yell and holler and they’re great to come here, everybody else has the same thing,” driver Marty Murphy said.

The racing begins at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission is $5 and children ten and under get in for free.

I speak from experience when I tell you that this can save you a trip to the repair shop as well as save you a lot of frustration come next spring.
Although this is a time consuming job it is necessary to
continue to cook efficiently. To finish the telescopic hedge size gives
the opportunity to work 4m vertically and 2m60 horizontally.
