DES MOINES, Iowa – Authorities are working to make rules to guide the implementation of the medical cannabis oil legislation.

The law takes effect Tuesday but the DOT cards the users require won’t be ready until sometime this fall.

The Department of Public Health met Monday. No decisions were made but it was an opportunity to discussion how to properly implement the legislation.

Another meeting will be scheduled soon to include the public. Decisions are set to be made then.

The governor signed the legislation last month allowing Iowans to use the oil based form of marijuana in a limited scope.

The oil is said to help treat those with seizure disorders.

Why are Iowa lawmakers turning their backs on the sick and dying, vets and other folks with PTSD and the many many other people that med cannabis can help? I’ll tell why…they are out of touch cowards, greed mongers and cult members that don’t care. They would just rather keep locking up people to keep funding this prison state. Shame on all of you. What comes around goes around.

FYI I could leave my home right now and get some pot and be back home in a few short minutes and be doing bongs rips until the cows come home. So put that in your pipes and smoke it. Your silly laws mean nothing. I just don’t want to.

This is messed up. Think of this as a drivers license. You have completed all that is needed, and have been proven qualified as of now…but we can’t give you a copy of the required license for months to prove you have the privilege…so until then, you don’t have it.
