ANKENY, Iowa — Driving past the Ankeny Airport could net you a glimpse of an interesting sight Wednesday night.

The MetLife “Snoopy 2” blimp touch down at the Ankeny Airport sometime Wednesday evening. There are three full-time MetLife blimps and they are used primarily to provide aerial coverage of sports and special events.

The “Snoopy 2” is stopping in Ankeny after covering the John Deere Classic. It will be moored at the Ankeny Airport through July 22nd.

The blimp has a 14-member crew comprised of two pilots and 12 crew members.

Officials say to be wary of drivers on I-35 trying to sneak a peek at the blimp.
