Wapello County Death Ruled a Homicide

WAPELLO COUNTY, Iowa – The Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office says the death of a man found in a field earlier this week will be ruled a homicide.

According to the Ottumwa Courier, Clinton Leedom, 49, died from a gunshot wound to the neck and chest.

Authorities found his body Monday morning at about 1:20 a.m. in Wapello County.

Police haven’t made any arrests but say it appears to be an isolated incident.
