ISU Solar Car Completes National Race

solar carMINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota – After a small delay over the weekend when Iowa State University’s Team Prisum was pulled over, the solar car crossed the finish line Monday.

The American Solar Car Challenge ended at the University of Minnesota.

The eight-day race traveled from Austin, Texas to Minneapolis.

The University of Michigan came in first. It took them about 41 and a half hours to complete the 1,700 mile race.

Minnesota came in second and ISU finished third. The group finished the race in 50 hours, 18 minutes and 46 seconds.

Sunday in Wisconsin, they were pulled over by an undercover cop who wanted to make sure the solar car was street legal.
