Jonathan Narcisse Running for Governor as Independent

Narcisse_MugDES MOINES, Iowa — Jonathan Narcisse is taking another shot at the governor’s mansion.

The former Des Moines school board member will run as a third party candidate. He turned in his paperwork to the secretary of state’s office Tuesday morning and it was approved.

In 2010, he ran for governor as an independent earning a little more than one-percent of the general election vote.

Narcisse will go against Governor Terry Branstad and Democratic candidate Jack Hatch.

An attempt to run the in the Democratic primary was foiled when the Iowa Supreme Court ruled he failed to fill out his petition correctly.

The election is less than 100 days away.
