WAUKEE, Iowa -- The last time Waukee made the State Baseball Tournament all of the current players were either in 2nd or 3rd grade. It’s been 10 years.

The Warriors practiced one final time Tuesday before they take the field Wednesday in the quarterfinals against Johnston. Waukee had the best regular season in school history, winning 35 games. Now the warriors are the top seed in Class 4A.

With three more wins, Waukee would win its first state baseball title.
