DES MOINES, Iowa - According to NBC's "Last Comic Standing" competition, one of the funniest comedians in the nation will be tickling Des Moines' funny bone this weekend.

Rod Man is an Atlanta, Georgia native, and says he's been doing stand-up comedy for 19 years. But he told Channel 13 in an interview that "Last Comic Standing" truly tests your wits as a comedian; stand-up comedy is only one part of the competition.

Improvisation and sketch challenges that required the contestants to work in teams, as opposed to their usual individual sets, weeded out the original 100-person competition to the final four who will appear on the show Thursday night at 9 p.m. The finale is next Thursday, August 16.

Rod Man will be performing comedy sets at the Funny Bone in West Des Moines Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Check out the full schedule of shows here.
