MALVERN, Iowa – A state audit shows $32,000 is missing from a small town's public library.

Malvern city officials requested the investigation amid concerns about the former library director, Stacey Buick.

The audit found receipts for things like video games, candy, decorative items, and groceries. It also found several altered receipts.

State auditors suggest the city change its internal controls and overall operations. Copies of the audit have been turned over the Mills County attorney.
