ADEL, Iowa – Due to storm’s Wednesday morning the city of Adel is now under a boil advisory.

Authorities said people should boil all drinking water. The advisory will likely be in place for at least the next couple days.

Officials said when parts of the city lost power it created a pressure loss in the water system. Two sets of water samples must be clear of bacteria before the advisory can be lifted.

Until then, customers should boil water for one minute then let it cool before using it for drinking, brushing teeth or cooking.
