Police Investigate Armed Robbery in Ames

AMES, Iowa — Ames Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery Thursday morning at Kum and Go on East 13th Street. Officers were on the scene at about 6 a.m. and the store was closed to business.

An employee told police a white man displayed a knife or box cutter and demanded money.

The suspect is described as being in his 30s or 40s, stocky and approximately 5’4” to 5’6” in height.

The suspect left without getting any money, police said.
