DES MOINES, Iowa — The city of Des Moines has made it on another best list. This time it’s in Bicycling Magazine.

Des Moines is ranked number 49 on the magazine’s list of America’s 50 Best Bike Cities.

To find the top 50, the magazine looked at percentage of bike commuters and the rate at which that number is growing. It also looked at the amount and quality of cycling infrastructure, such as bike lanes.

New York City took the top spot followed by Chicago and Minneapolis.

No other city in Iowa made the list.

The bright side of this asinine list is that there’s 48 other cities who should be feeling more embarrassed than Des Moines.

I can’t for the life of me figure out what “FIDDLESTIX” means. I suspect he or she is one of the douchebags in Dumb Moines in a gas-powered vehicle who make riding a bike here a life-or-death event. The kind of person I’d like to be in my full-size pickup just once, with them on MY bike, to see how that like it…
