DES MOINES, Iowa - Local lovers of the Broadway classic will be excited to know the next two weeks bring Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Andrew Lloyd Weber's musical, "Phantom of the Opera" to the Metro.

Show-runners boast this touring version of the production to have all-new special effects, lighting designs, and choreography. The cast has toured the country since last November, and will be performing at the Des Moines Civic Center through next weekend.

"We're the largest touring production on the road," said Julia Udine, who plays lead-role "Christine" in the show. " So you're in for a treat, if you're living in Iowa and you're not really able to go to New York for a Broadway show. This is sort of like seeing a Broadway show here in Iowa."
