Des Moines Police Investigate Stabbing

DES MOINES, Iowa – Police are investigating a stabbing that happened Tuesday afternoon in Des Moines.

At about 4 p.m., police responded to 5000 SW 9th Street on a report of a fight with a weapon.

Upon arriving, police found Michael Huston, 18, with a stabbing wound to his neck. Huston told police he was standing outside the Des Moines Food and Liquor Store when two cars carrying several men pulled up and engaged him in a fight.

Hustons said the men followed him inside the store and one of the men sliced his neck twice with a pocket knife.

Officials said Huston refused to go to the hospital.

Police haven’t made any arrests at this time.
