Vice President Biden Speaks in Des Moines During ‘Nuns on the Bus Tour’ Stop

DES MOINES, Iowa - Vice President Joe Biden spoke in Des Moines Wednesday during the "Nuns on the Bus: We the People, We The Voters”" tour.

Biden spoke to a crowd of several hundred people at the West Capitol Terrace. During his speech, Biden credited the "Nuns on the Bus" tour for their work on health care reform. "Nuns on the Bus fought like the devil for health care," the Vice President said.

Biden also discussed raising taxes on corporations and pay inequality, saying the middle class is "in trouble".

Biden, who is seen as possible candidate for President in 2016, visited Iowa just days after Hillary Clinton's appearance at the Harkin Steak Fry.

Thursday's "Nuns on the Bus" stop is part of a 10-state tour to encourage voter turnout on Election Day.
