DES MOINES,Iowa – A former Ankeny School employee plead guilty to sexual exploitation charges involving a minor.

Mandy Davenport, 33, admitted to having a relationship and engaging in sexual acts with a student in January of 2012. Davenport was a language arts teacher at Ankeny High School and has also taught at Ankeny Centennial.

The criminal complaint says Davenport waited until the student graduated before confiding in a colleague. Davenport was arrested and resigned from her position in April of this year.

Sentencing is set for November 7 at the Polk County Court House. If convicted she could spend up to 10 years in prison.
