JOHNSTON, Iowa — Johnston authorities have decided not to file charges against teens involved in school vandalism.

It happened last month during homecoming week at Johnston High School. School administrators and police say a prank went too far.

Students toilet papered the school but also broke into the stadium and press box.

Because charges aren’t being filed, it’s up to the school to determine any further punishment.

Police say there were nearly 600 students involved in the incident.

I highly doubt there were 600 of them that broke into the press box. The toilet papering…no big deal…have the kids clean it up. Breaking into the stadium and press box is a different story. that isn’t just a prank. that is vandalism that will cost the school money to repair the damages. that is money that cannot be spent on anything else.
