CLIVE, Iowa – The annual “Family Halloween” event at Living History Farms kicked off on Saturday offering something different for trick or treaters.

Event Coordinator, Megan Bendixen, says “It`s a great activity for families with little kids to come out and do. If they are looking for something a little different rather than spooky haunted houses or just parties to go to, this is a great way to get families out.”

Bendixen says candy is apart of the experience and costumes are encouraged but the event also offers games, storytelling and horse – drawn wagon rides.

The event has only been open for one out of its three weekends but coordinators say already this years’ turn out is one of the largest in recent years.

Catch the next chance to trick or treat at Living History Farms:
– Thursday, October 23rd – Sunday, October 26th
– Thursday, October 30 – Friday, October 31st

The event goes from 5:30 p.m. through 8:30 p.m. on all days. Tickets are $6 per person.
