IOWA CITY, Iowa--Bruce Braley, Iowa's Democratic U.S. Senate candidate, can't seem to catch a break lately from some of those trying to help him. Tuesday, a transcript from the White House following First Lady Michelle Obama's second campaign stop in two weeks in Iowa for Braley provided the latest blunder.

Mrs. Obama held a rally in Iowa City Tuesday. The White House sent out the official transcript of the first lady's remarks following her visit. It was headlined, "Remarks by the First Lady at a Grassroots Campaign Event with Democratic Candidate for Governor Bruce Braley."

Again, Braley is running for the U.S. Senate, not governor.

The White House sent out a corrected version later, which fixed the inadvertent slip-up.

This follows Mrs. Obama's first campaign rally for Braley in Des Moines earlier this month when she referred to the congressman as Bruce "Bailey" seven times before the audience corrected her.

Former President Bill Clinton also called him "Bailey" when talking about Braley at Senator Tom Harkin's Steak Fry in Indianola last month.

Obama had no trouble with Braley's name at the Iowa City rally and made light of her previous flubs. The first lady joked that she even sometimes calls her husband, Bo, which is actually the name of the family's dog.

This really does go to show what a farce some of these events are on both sides. Obviously Mrs. Obama doesn’t actually know Bruce in any meaningful way or have any idea what kind of Senator he would be (other than maybe a rubber stamp for her husband). But she is here anyway because Bruce needs the “star power”. Frankly I never pay much attention to what other politicians have to tell me about a candidate. Its one liar talking about another. I’d rather get to know them myself.

Now that’s funny. Let’s all vote for “what’s his name” running for “that office”.
What’s even funnier-Bruce Bailey for Governor is currently getting more attention than Jack Hatch is getting for anything.
