JEFFERSON, Iowa — Despite some bad weather, the Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson remains on pace to be completed next August.
The underground work of extending water mains and storm sewers is complete. Officials say the foundation is also in place for the casino structure.
The wind earlier this month knocked down some concrete panels in the structure but crews worked quickly to put in replacements.
Work on the hotel that will be connected to the casino will begin in December.
Greene County voters approved a referendum on the casino in August of 2013 and this June the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission awarded a license for the casino.
