DES MOINES, Iowa – Children & Families of Iowa wants to give every kid in Central Iowa a happy Halloween, and they need your help to do it.

From now until Halloween, the group is accepting new or gently used costume donations to distribute to kids in its Child Development Center. For the past several weeks, radio station Lazer 103.3 has been running a costume drive, and donated those to the center Wednesday afternoon.

“A lot of the kids we serve come from families where money is really tight,” said Kellie Doffin of Children & Families of Iowa. “And so, having them be able to have a costume to call their own really means a lot. The kids just love it. You know, they can be new or gently used, the kids just love having a piece that’s really their own.”

To donate, you can call ahead, or drop off, at their main location. They ask any costume donated is not “violent in nature.”
