MADISON, Wisconsin — A bizarre story that started in February has come to an end.

A Colorado woman is heading to prison for kidnapping and abandoning her nephew. Kristen Smith was sentenced in Wisconsin Monday to 25 years in federal prison.

Smith kidnapped her four day old nephew from his home in southeast Wisconsin last February.

The boy was found 30 hours later, unharmed, in a bin left outside a West Branch gas station in eastern Iowa. The child survived sub-zero temperatures.
