DES MOINES, Iowa — Democratic congressional candidate Staci Appel campaigned in Des Moines Monday, stopping off at the Mars Café to have some hot chocolate and talk with voters.

Appel says she’s making sure Iowans know what she stands for and says she’s ready to work hard in Congress.

“They really want someone who can stop the gridlock in Washington, D.C. Somebody who has a record of getting things done and I served in the state senate and got things done for middle class families in Iowa and so I have a record of that and that’s what they want, they want someone who is going to fight for them, work hard, and get things done,” says Appel.

Appel also made campaign stops in Windsor Heights Monday afternoon.

Yeah like there’s not going to be continued gridlock when more republicans get into office? There will be continued do nothing Congress who refuse to get along with the President. How soon we forget who shut down our government costing we the people over 24 billions dollars.

    • so be it

Actually I will bet there will be less grid lock. Remember Clinton had a Republican Congress. The trouble has not been the Republicans it has also been the Dems. The House would pass a bill and good old senile Reed would say no way without even reading it. Obama is the same way. And the House too. Dems controlled the Senate and White House, but they would not play ball. I think a Republican Congress and Dem in the White House will do good.

The cause of the gridlock is that pompous, egotistical, narcissistic, race-baiting divider in Chief in the White House!

you just described the entire Republican party. For 6 years I’ve listened to “that n****r in th White House from you guys. But no, you’re not racists.
