LOS ANGELES, California — Johnston teen Grant Ganzer shined in the spotlight on NBC’s The Voice Monday night, but he wasn’t able to make it past the knockout round.

Coach Blake Shelton had his youngest team members battle it out against each other.

Sixteen-year-old Grant sang One Republic’s “Apoligize” while 15-year-old Reagan James sang “Hit ‘Em Up Style” by Blu Cantrell. Both received some coaching from superstar Taylor Swift before performance.

When it came time for Blake to make a decision he praised Grant for his unique voice but chose Reagan — ending Grant’s time on the show. Grant offered thanks to Blake for the amazing opportunity on the show.
