ANKENY, Iowa- Otter Creek Golf Course wound down it’s 2014 season this Sunday.  The course does not open any during the winter due to treatments to it’s greens during that time.

“It’s nice out, 45 degrees, no wind, no problem today.” said Mark Hill of Clive. “As long as it’s not wet you’re fine.”

Hill’s golfing partner Mike Clark of West Des Moines not only plays the game, but also operates his remote controlled golf bag. He carries a little remote, and can send it up hills, or across the fairway, wherever he wants it to go. He said he has lost control of his $1100 cart, but he likes using it.

“I don’t know if this golf cart makes my game any better, but it’s a lot more convenient,” said Clark. “It makes a treacherous game a little easier on the soul.”

Even though Otter Creek is closing these golfers are not ready to call it quits for the year. “We’ll probably have another day or two,” said Clark. “There’s always a course that will be open in the city.”
