Bond Set for Teen Murder Suspect

DES MOINES, Iowa — The bond is now set at $1 million in a Des Moines first degree murder case.

Seventeen-year-old Keith Collins is charged in the shooting death of 24-year-old Aaron McHenry. Police found McHenry dead in the 2600 block of Hickman Lane Friday afternoon.

Officials say McHenry is from Illinois, but has been in Des Moines for several months.

Police believe the homicide is related to an incident involving narcotics.

Collins is due back in court on November 19th. Officials say he will be tried as an adult.
