Father of Four Who Got Severely Burned at Work Dies

DES MOINES, Iowa–Funeral services are set for a Des Moines man who later died after getting severely burned following a fire spread from a nearby business that exploded November 10th.

Jason Capps, 38, had been working at the Body Parts Store, when another business in the complex at 2123 NE 46th Avenue exploded after an employee mixed chemicals.

He suffered burns on more than two-thirds of his body, according to fire crews.

Capps had been receiving treatment at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, but his family told Channel 13 he passed away Thursday.

Funeral services are scheduled for noon Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home in West Des Moines.¬†¬†Capps’ obituary says he leaves behind four children.
