DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines Lincoln football head coach, Andy Campbell, confirms to WHO that he is resigning from his position after two season. Six of his assistants are also stepping down from their positions.
According to the Des Moines Register, Campbell and his staff worked hard to create a “family atmosphere” and that played into their decision to step down together.
“You’ve just got to ask yourself if you’re up for the other political things, and at this stage of my career after 10 years as a head coach, I felt it was time to let somebody else have those headaches,” Campbell told the Register.
Campbell led the Railsplitters to a 4-A Playoff this past fall.
