DES MOINES, Iowa – Des Moines police say three people forced their way into a home after telling a woman they were looking for a lost dog.

Authorities were called to a home on the 1800 block of 7th Street just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

They say a young woman rang the door and told the victim she was looking for her dog. That’s when two men in masks allegedly jumped out from around the house with guns.

Police say one of the men then punched the victim in the face and forced her to the ground.

The victim says she was made at gun point to crawl from room to room as the suspects searched the house for over an hour.

They were able to get away with several items including a television.

The victim says she wasn’t able to get a good look at the three suspects.
