Fire Damages Indianola Home

INDIANOLA, Iowa — Firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire in Indianola Wednesday.

Flames broke out in a home at 509 South E Street at about 4 a.m.

When crews arrived, they found flames shooting through the roof.

Firefighters say they were able to put the fire out quickly. They say the cause of the fire is electrical and started in the attic.

Five people inside the home smelled the smoke and were able to make it out safely.

The damage caused by the fire is estimated at $10,000.
