JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Iowa Hawkeyes finish a disappointing season with one of their most disappointing performances ever in a bowl game.

Tennessee, a 6-6 SEC team, manhandled the Hawks en route to a 45-28 win.  The score was much closer than the game actually was.  Iowa scored 14 points in the final few minutes with TD passes from CJ Beathard.

Jordan Canzeri was the lone bright spot for Iowa rushing for 120 yards on 12 carries.

Iowa finishes the season 7-6.

The Hawkeyes are now just 34-30 the last 5 seasons with just 1 bowl win.

I don’t think the University of Iowa can keep Kirk Ferentz on the payroll much long.
Most of these coaches are gone like Dan McCarney, the previous basketball coach that was caught drinking with the players/fans-photo’s at Iowa State, the football coach in Nebraska this yr.
My husband, a native from the Amana’s says, ‘ Ferentz is losing big here & to be blowing out like that today, he really hasn’t had a winning season here’.
