Ottumwa Police Investigate Homicide, Warrant Issued for Suspect

OTTUMWA, Iowa — Roger Wiseman Jr., 25-years-old, was found dead in Ottumwa early Sunday morning.

At approximately 2:31 a.m., the Ottumwa Police Department responded to the 400 Block of North Market Street for a report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers found one person at the scene had sustained several gunshot wounds.

Wiseman was transported to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center where he later died.

As a result of the investigation, the Ottumwa Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant for Dustin William McDanel, 24-years-old, of Ottumwa, for Murder 1st Degree.  McDanel is considered by law enforcement as armed and dangerous.
