ALTOONA, Iowa - Five people were taken to local hospitals in a crash involving about 25 vehicles on Interstate Highway 80 near Altoona on Monday afternoon, the Des Moines Register reported.

The crash happened on I-80 near the U.S. Highway 65 exit at about 3:20 p.m. Monday. It involved about 25 vehicles in about a mile and a half stretch of road, said Iowa Department of Public Safety spokesman Alex Murphy.

Five people were taken to Des Moines hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, Murphy said.

The crash caused I-80 westbound to be blocked for hours. Murphy said Iowa State Patrol troopers expected all lanes to be back open at about 6:30 p.m. Monday.

If you don’t have to be on the road. Then don’t.
Looks like we got 6 inches here in Ogden.
My husband always has me clean off our gas meter.
I suggest residents clean off the Fire Hyrant. Cause my grandma died in a house fire around Christmas time.
And House Fires always happen in cold weather!!
