I-35 Northbound Reopens Following Morning Crash

DMTV36WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – A crash involving a jack-knifed semi and several vehicles closed northbound lanes of I-35 during the morning commute Tuesday.

The crash happened near Grand Avenue, north of the Highway 5 bypass, at about 6 a.m. The crash was cleared at about 7:40 a.m..

Des Moines Police responded to dozens of car accidents as snow fell across the city. Officers responded to 45 accidents from 11 a.m. Monday through 8 a.m. Tuesday, said police sergeant Jason Halifax. No major injuries were reported.
