AMES, IA – Just 3 days after blowing a 23 point lead at TCU the Iowa State women knocked off 3rd ranked Texas 59-57 in Ames on Saturday.

The Cyclones trailed by as many as 18 points in the first half, but a 24-6 run pulled ISU even.

Seanna Johnson hit a layup with 17 seconds left to give ISU a 59-57 lead, which ended up being the final score.

Nikki Moody had a huge game, 17 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, Brynn Williamson added 14.

It’s Iowa State’s first win over a top 5 team in 10 years when they beat Texas Tech in 2004.

The Cyclones are now 11-3, 2-1 in the Big 12.  ISU hits the road to take on 5th ranked Baylor Tuesday.
