DES MOINES, Iowa — Evansdale cousins Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins disappeared in July of 2012.

Their bodies were discovered four months later in Bremer County.

The person or persons responsible for their kidnapping and murder have never been found.

That’s why an investigator with the Division of Criminal Investigation and an officer with the Evansdale Police Department are in Virginia Thursday. They’re reviewing the case with investigators at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Assistant Director of the Iowa DCI, Mitch Mortvedt, stopped by the Channel 13 News at 4 to talk with Sonya and Andy about how this could help break the case.
