DES MOINES, Iowa – A judge has approved the sale of Dahl’s Foods  to three companies as a part of a bankruptcy case.

The Des Moines-area grocery store chain filed for bankruptcy in November.

Kansas-based Associated Wholesale Grocers will take over seven of Dahl’s ten stores.

Convenience store chain Kum & Go purchased the Dahl’s located at the intersection of E.P. True Parkway and 50th Street in West Des Moines. Kum & Go said it plans to build a store at the location, the Des Moines Register reports.

The store located at 8700 Hickman in Clive has been purchased by Equity Ventures Development.

The remaining location, at 3400 East 33rd in Des Moines, will close.

Hy-Vee will purchase the pharmaceutical assets of the three locations not purchased by AWG.
