DES MOINES, Iowa – Icy roads are believed to have played a role in a singe-vehicle accident involving a post office mail truck.
The crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. in the 2900 block of East 56th Street in Des Moines. The driver lost control of the vehicle, went into a ditch and rolled before coming to a rest on its top.
The driver, a United States Postal Service employee, was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
Additional postal service employees responded to the scene to transfer the mail to another truck.
