DES MOINES, Iowa — A new program is offering some Iowa moms a free crib.

The Iowa Department of Public Health announced the Cribs for Kids program this week. The hope is that by providing cribs to new moms, it will prevent infant deaths from unsafe sleeping practices, including co-sleeping.

Meridian health donated $75,000 to the state for the program.

It will only be available in Black Hawk, Clinton, Des Moines, and Hamilton counties.

Wow this sounds like an awesome program.+
My wife and I having our first child, and when looking at cribs I was like, “Hey these aren’t to badly priced” Then she reminded me, the cribs don’t come with a mattress. Lol
