Nevada, Pocahontas, and Carlisle Advance at Girls State Basketball

DES MOINES - Day 2 of the girls state basketball is in the books.

Nevada, making their first appearance at state in 47 years, beat Red Oak 54-38.  The Cubs play Top ranked Mediapolis on Thursday in the semifinals.

Pocahontas rallied to take down Clear Lake 63-59.

In Class 4A third ranked Carlisle beat Waverly Shell-Rock 56-50.

The tournament continues on Wednesday with 4A, 5A, and 1A semifinals.
