Woman Injured During Fight at Des Moines Strip Club

Woman assaulted at Big Earl’s Goldmine in Des Moines. (WHO-HD)


DES MOINES, Iowa — One woman was hurt during a fight at Des Moines strip club Big Earl’s Goldmine early Monday morning.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the fight broke out at 4745 NW 2nd Street just before 1:00 a.m. There were initial reports of shots being fired, but officials say no shots had actually been fired.

Several patrons were involved in the fight which included items being thrown. One of those items struck a 23-year-old female victim. She was transported to a local hospital by ambulance with a head injury. Officials did not release her name or condition.

1_mug_harris_tiaraWhile taking interviews deputies learned a woman, 24-year-old Tiara Harris of Des Moines, had brandished a handgun during the fight. She was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

The investigation into the fight continues.
