Farmer selfies, shortened to "felfies" on social media, might have some competition on feeds after Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey announced "A Day in Iowa Agriculture" photo project.

It isn't a contest, but it does let Iowans share their agriculture experience on Wednesday, March 18, which is National Agriculture Day.

Photos taken in that 24-hour period can be submitted on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with #DayinIAag.

Northey says, “We are looking for photos that document all aspects of farming and Iowa agriculture. This includes caring for livestock, preparing for spring planting, working conservation practices, moving equipment, and showing family members and children on the farm."

A selection of the photos will be assembled in an online album, and some will be considered for a display at the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship in the Wallace building in Des Moines.
