AMES - Iowa State Senior Kyven Gadson not only won the 197 pound national wrestling championship on Saturday, but he also went viral because of his post-match interview.

After pinning Ohio State's Kyle Snyder for the title, Gadson told ESPN, "I want some ice cream, I just want some ice cream man!"

He's had lots and lots of ice cream since Saturday night.

Gadson's story is one of perseverance and overcoming adversity ranging from injuries that almost ended his career as a Freshman, to losing his father Willie to cancer a few years ago.  Through all the struggles, Gadson battled back and on the biggest stage, on the biggest night of his career, he came up with the biggest win of his life.

His reward, ice cream...And a national title.

"Lots of tears, tear of joy.  It was awesome," says Gadson.

Kyven has 1 more year of graduate school at Iowa State then he hopes to someday become an Athletic Director for a school.
